About The Montgomery Foundation
The Montgomery Foundation was re-established in 1984 as a Private Family Foundation with non-operating status under the direction of Chairman Edward Montgomery. In 1986, Joseph and Scott Montgomery, son and grandson respectively of the Foundation’s founders, were elected as lifetime members of The Montgomery Foundation Board of Trustees.
In 2020, The Montgomery Foundation changed its tax status from a private family foundation to a public charity and became a support organization of The Coshocton Foundation. This change enabled The Montgomery Foundation to see growth of its assets through appreciation and through the generosity of public donors.
The present mission of the Foundation is to provide grants to non-profit entities with the goal to enhance Coshocton County’s natural beauty, preserve and restore its historical heritage, develop its human economic resources, and encourage its entrepreneurial spirit. In the past three decades, grantees have shared in excess of $44 million in pursuit of the Foundation’s mission to improve the quality of life for residents of Coshocton County.
